Keep Kids Rehydrated for Learning A study that correlated hydration and cognitive function in children found that dehydrated infants suffer confusion, irritability and lethargy. In young adults, even mild dehydration corresponding to 1% to 2% of body weight can lead to significant impairment of cognitive function.
